Nadine White captures the past, questions the present and shapes the record for tomorrow - creating films that preserve history, challenge power and give voice to those too often left unheard.
Her work is produced through Brixton Heights Multimedia Productions, the cinematic arm of her wider Brixton Heights Media brand. Founded by Nadine, the company develops and distributes powerful documentaries and cultural projects that centre untold stories from the African and Caribbean diaspora.
Brixton Heights Multimedia Productions produced and distributed Nadine’s debut feature documentary, Barrel Children: The Families Windrush Left Behind (2023), which became a UK box office success and earned her the Menelik Shabazz Legacy Award at the Windrush Caribbean Film Festival (2024).
Prior to this, Nadine directed several short documentaries for Verizon Media via HuffPost UK.
BARREL CHILDREN: The Families WINDRUSH LEFT BEHIND
Barrel Children is a box office hit feature documentary, exploring the stories of Caribbean children left behind by the Windrush generation who migrated to Britain after WWII to help rebuild the country. The children grew up knowing their parents only through care packages sent in 'barrel's and the film details their eventual, often challenging, reunion in the UK and their journey of reconciliation and self-discovery in a new world

Labour and the Black Vote: A Breaking Point
Nadine White directed, wrote and narrated this investigative short documentary exploring the Labour Party’s handling of anti-Black racism allegations and the exodus of Black members who felt marginalised within the party. Released alongside a two-part written investigation for HuffPost UK, the film and articles examined Labour’s record on race and prompted national debate. Following the series, Labour introduced a dedicated Afrophobia and Anti-Black Racism Policy for the first time in its history - a landmark shift influenced by the reporting

Produced by HuffPost UK, the film examined claims of financial and spiritual exploitation raised by former members and prompted further scrutiny of the organisation across the media and political spheres

Nadine White directed, wrote and narrated this short documentary marking 40 years since the New Cross Fire - one of Britain’s most significant civil rights moments. Released by HuffPost UK under Verizon Media, the film revisited the tragedy and its aftermath, shedding light on a chapter of Black British history that was rarely explored on screen at the time. Its early impact helped lay the groundwork for larger television productions that would go on to examine this pivotal period in Britain’s story
